Outdoor Fireplace
Gas is the switch: instant on, no smoke, a consistent flame, and clean shutdown when the evening ends. It needs a gas line run — which is easiest to plan before hardscape goes down.

A fire feature is what keeps the backyard alive after the swimming stops — the place the evening moves to when the sun goes down. Planned alongside the pool, the fire, the seating, and the decking are laid out as one design, and gas and electric runs go in before the hardscape does.
